After in-absentia arrest, former head of Svarog West Group declared wanted

The former chair of the board of Svarog West Group and former member of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Council, Andriy Hordiychuk, has been declared wanted by the state. Previously, a court in absentia imposed a preventive measure on him in the form of pre-trial detention.

According to the report, Andriy Hordiychuk appeared in the database of the Ministry of Internal Affairs as a person evading pre-trial investigations. The date of disappearance is given as 29 May 2026 of the year.

As of 6 August, the court in absentia chose for him a preventive measure in the form of detention.

According to the investigation, Hordiychuk is suspected of fraud and misappropriation of someone else’s property.

In May 2026, Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko stated that the businessman allegedly for years obtained loans from a state bank through shell companies and did not repay the funds. According to the prosecutor general, the total amount of such loans was about 185 million UAH.

Kravchenko also said that pledged tractors were sold to third parties. Law enforcement officers managed to locate 46 with 90 machines, which were sold to partially repay the debt to the bank.

Estimates by investigators put the state bank’s losses in this case at about 140 million UAH.

Earlier it was reported that the suspect was in the United Arab Emirates.
