Political scientist explains why the Bankova influence is waning

Political scientist Volodymyr Tsybuilko believes that President Volodymyr Zelensky has found himself in a new political situation. In his view, the latest sociological data indicate the emergence of several centers of public trust, not a single unquestioned leader.

He stated this on the YouTube broadcast.

According to the expert, current sociology shows not only changes in ratings, but also that Ukrainians increasingly pay attention to other politicians. He believes that society has begun to seek alternatives.

Tsybuilko said that Zelensky is gradually losing a monopoly on the topic of war. In his view, Valeriy Zaluzhny is associated in the public mind with military competence, Kyrylo Budanov with successful special operations, and Mykhailo Fedorov with technological solutions.

The political scientist believes this indicates a weakening of the information influence of the Bankova. According to him, the government does not have a clear programmatic vision for the country’s future success.

He also noted that now the Office of the President more and more has to react to events, refute statements, and explain their decisions instead of independently setting the agenda. In the expert’s opinion, this is a sign of a transition from political offensive to defense.

Separately Tsybuilko drew attention to the emergence of several centers of political legitimacy. He believes that the greatest threat to the current authorities is not one strong competitor, but a situation in which different politicians begin to be associated by voters with different areas — military, technological, or diplomatic.

In summary, the political scientist stressed that Zelensky’s main problem lies not only in sociological poll figures. In his view, the authorities are gradually losing political initiative, and the public increasingly perceives other politicians as alternative centers of gravity.
