In Berehove TCRC illegally deprived men of deferments and blocked their exit, — Lubineț

In the Berehivska raionnyi TCRC in Zakarpattia region, numerous violations of the rights of those liable for military conscription were found, including cases of people being deprived of their lawful deferment from mobilization.

This was stated by the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubynets.

According to him, during the inspection representatives of the ombudsperson established that employees of Berehivske RTCk blocked people with valid documents from leaving, while entering into registries false data about allegedly canceling their deferments.

In some cases, as Lubineț says, such decisions were made without the sitting of the relevant commission and without a protocol. Also, as the ombudsperson notes, RTCk staff prepared fictitious reports used to deprive mobilized persons of their rights.

Additionally, during the inspection, problems with conditions for people staying in the RTCk premises were found. In particular, mentions poor sanitation, lack of clean water and linen, and the presence of only a summer shower.

Lubineț stated that the actions of RTCk staff may contain signs of several criminal offenses, including illegal imprisonment, unauthorized actions with information, official forgery, and abuse of power or official authority.
