RF attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles - warehouses caught fire in Shevchenkivskyi district

On the night of 11 August, Russia attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles. Warehouse premises caught fire in the Shevchenkivskyi district. The strike was preceded by reports of additional ballistic missiles from North Korea that Russia has received recently. The Air Forces warned about the threat of ballistic missile use toward the capital even before the launches. At the same time, the Russians launched ballistic missiles toward Pavlohrad in Dnipropetrovsk region and Zaporizhzhia. The consequences of the attack were being clarified at the time of publication.

Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko reported on the consequences of the strike on his Telegram channel. According to him, medics were called to the Shevchenkivskyi district of the capital, where warehouse premises caught fire as a result of the attack.

"Medics were called to the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kyiv. A crew has departed," Vitali Klitschko wrote.

Monitoring channels report that the enemy launched Zircon hypersonic missiles at the capital. The targets flew simultaneously with North Korean KN-23 missiles, the trajectories of which are recorded only as they fall on the target, which complicates timely responses by air defense.

After another shelling of the capital on 1 August, Dmytro Kuleba urged citizens not to ignore security forces and to respond to every threat, since there is currently no absolute protection against ballistic weapons.

The only effective way to protect oneself during ballistic attacks, he said, is to respond promptly to alarm signals and immediately go to shelter after the first alerts.

In his view, Ukraine together with its European allies should accelerate as much as possible the development and implementation of its own systems to counter ballistic threats.

What preceded the new missile attack on Kyiv
