Drone attack on Odesa destroyed an apartment on the 5-th floor - what about the owners

An enemy drone at night in 12 August hit a residential building in Odesa, destroying an apartment on the fifth floor of a 10-story building. According to preliminary data, there were no casualties, as the occupants were not at home. At the same time, messages appeared online and in public groups that the enemy attacked the city’s energy infrastructure, causing power outages in some areas.

The head of the Odesa City Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak, reported the night strike’s consequences. The enemy began attacking Odesa from early morning and damaged the city’s infrastructure.

"During the night strike, fortunately, there were no casualties. One residential building was damaged," wrote Lysak.

According to the MFA, utility services promptly cleared the area and closed all window openings of the damaged building. Odesans whose property was damaged in the attack are offered to file a claim for compensation under the programs "eRecovery" and "Unbreakable Odesa" — for this you need to contact the district administrations.

The enemy continued striking at the Odesa region’s energy sector

On social networks and in public groups, there is also information being circulated that the Russian attack touched Odesa’s energy infrastructure, resulting in power outages in part of the city. Such strikes on regional energy facilities are carried out regularly by the Russians, and each time power restoration takes more than one day.

Local authorities traditionally urge residents of affected districts to seek help from district administrations and to document losses for subsequent compensation. The MFA emphasizes that emergency and utility services respond to damage promptly as safety conditions permit.

Odesa regularly suffers from mass strikes
