At night the enemy again struck sleeping cities with ballistic missiles: 'hits' in Kyiv and Kryvyi Rih (photos, video)

The Russians continue to shell Ukraine. On the night of 16 August the Russians attacked Kyiv, Kremenchuk, and Kryvyi Rih with Oniks anti-ship missiles, Iskander-M/S-400/KN-23 ballistic missiles, Kh-59/69 guided air-launched missiles, as well as 106 Shahed-type strike UAVs (including rocket-propelled), Gerbera UAVs, and Parodiya-type decoy drones. The main directions of the strike were the Kyiv region, Poltava region, and Dnipropetrovsk region. Air defense shot down/suppressed three Kh-59/69 guided air-launched missiles, as well as 85 enemy Shahed and Gerbera UAVs. Impacts of the enemy’s aerial attack weapons were recorded at 13 locations, and debris from shot-down devices fell at 3 locations, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported. In the Obolon district there was falling debris and fires in non-residential premises at two addresses. Several cars are burning near one of the premises. In the Holosiivskyi district there is a fire on the grounds of a non-residential development, Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported. In the Obolon district there was a large fire at the book market on Pochaina. Currently 3 people are known to be injured. At another location, an explosive wave caused minor structural damage to a building without fire. Also, at another address there was a hit to a non-residential building, the State Emergency Service (DSNS) clarified. In the Holosiivskyi district a fire occurred on the grounds of a non-residential building. Rescuers have localized the blaze. As a result of a drone strike in the Brovary district three people were injured. Among them was a child. A private house and an outbuilding were damaged. The roof and windows of an apartment building were destroyed, KODA head Tymur Tkachenko reported. The enemy attacked the Dnipropetrovsk region’s 2 districts over 20 times with drones, artillery, and missiles. One person was killed. 14 were wounded. Infrastructure, an enterprise, an apartment building, and a private residence were damaged, OVA head Oleksandr Hanzha reported. In Kryvyi Rih an industrial enterprise was destroyed. Debris removal continues; rescuers extinguished the fire. One person was killed. Another 13 were injured. At least 12 apartment buildings were damaged, OVA head Oleksandr Vilkul reported. The enemy struck the south of Odesa region again. In Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, enemy attack damaged facades and glazing of three 5-story residential buildings. One person was injured, OVA head Oleh Kiper reported. As a result of enemy attacks on Zaporizhzhia Raion two people were killed and another was wounded. Private houses were destroyed and damaged, OVA head Ivan Fedorov reported. The enemy also attacked the Kremenchuk community. Consequences are being clarified, OVA head Vitalii Diakivnych reported. As Fakty wrote, on the morning of 13 August a rocket-powered Shahed struck a passenger train in Odesa region. The driver and his assistant were killed. There were 340 passengers on the train.
