"The investigation will be carried through to the end": ARMA stated it suffered a hacking attack

ARMA servers experienced unauthorized interference. Specifically, there are signs of a hacker attack. This occurred on the eve of the deadline for submitting applications to participate in the competition for selecting a manager of assets controlled by Mykhailo Fridman.

What is known about the hacker attack on ARMA

Despite the current situation, the IDS Ukraine asset manager selection competition will take place on the dates announced on ARMA's website.

Since spring, the Agency for Search and Asset Management has been recording signs of unlawful interference in processes related to the Agency’s work, in particular unauthorized access to the Register of Officials.

Based on these facts, a broader investigation has been launched by NABU.

At the same time, the circumstances of recent events, including the hacker attack, are being investigated by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).

Experts and law enforcement are also analyzing the sequence of events around the IDS Ukraine competition.

It should be noted that something similar happened this spring, when there were attempts to interfere and hack. In addition, these were accompanied by information waves and heightened inquiries from certain media and people’s deputies.

It is emphasized that ARMA is an independent and autonomous state authority and is guided exclusively by law and Ukraine’s interests, not the interests of private individuals or business groups. Accordingly, any attempts to illegally influence the Agency’s work will receive a firm legal response.

The investigation will be brought to an end. The final conclusions regarding the organizers, customers, and perpetrators of the attack should be established by the investigation. But neither a cyberattack, nor information campaigns, nor political pressure will force ARMA to deviate from upholding the law,

Attempts of external interference will not affect the competition.

Recall that earlier this spring it became known that IDS Ukraine assets would be put up for competition. And the previous intake was canceled due to technical complaints.

At the same time, hacker attacks have occurred previously. Hackers from Russia hacked more than 170 email inboxes of law enforcement officers of Ukraine, including ARMA.
