"The investigation will be carried through to the end": ARMA stated it suffered a hacker attack

ARMA’s servers suffered unauthorized intrusion. In particular, there are signs of a hacking attack. This occurred just before the deadline for submitting applications to participate in the contest for selecting the asset manager under the control of Mykhailo Freidman.

What is known about the hacker attack on ARMA

Despite the current situation, the IDS Ukraine asset manager selection contest will take place on schedule, as noted on ARMA’s website.

Since spring, the Asset Recovery and Management Agency has been recording signs of illegal interference in processes related to the Agency’s work, notably unauthorized access to the Register of Officials.

In response to these facts, a broader NABU investigation has been initiated.

At the same time, circumstances of recent events, including the hacker attack, are being investigated by the SBU.

Experts and law enforcement are also analyzing the sequence of events around the IDS Ukraine contest.

It should be added that something similar already happened this spring, when there were attempts of interference and hacking. Moreover, they were accompanied by information waves, as well as increased requests from certain media and MPs.

It is emphasized that ARMA is an independent and autonomous state body and is governed solely by the law and the interests of Ukraine, not by the interests of private individuals or business groups. In this regard, any attempts to illegally influence the Agency’s work will receive a firm legal response.

The investigation will be carried through to the end. The final conclusions regarding the organizers, customers, and perpetrators of the attack should be established by the investigation. But neither a cyberattack, nor an information campaign, nor political pressure will make ARMA retreat from obeying the law,

External interference attempts will not affect the conduct of the contest.

Recall that in spring it became known that IDS Ukraine assets would be put up for auction. And the previous recruitment was canceled due to technical complaints.

At the same time, hacker attacks have occurred before. Hackers from Russia hacked more than 170 electronic mailboxes of Ukrainian law enforcement personnel, including ARMA.
