New Head of Naftogaz: Koretskyi Says When the Company's Leader May Be Appointed

The issue of any personnel changes at Naftogaz of Ukraine depends on the company's supervisory board. However, appointing a new head should be postponed for the moment.

In particular, Naftogaz has implemented one of the best corporate governance structures, according to current Prime Minister Serhiy Koretzkyi 21 August.

I believe Naftogaz has put in place one of the best corporate governance structures. It has a supervisory board, and it will directly decide this issue regarding subsequent personnel changes. In any case, a transparent competition in line with best practices in corporate governance will be announced.

However, Koretskyi is confident that it is better to choose a new head only after the next heating season ends.

Ideally, the new chair should appear after the heating season, in order to navigate it smoothly,

explained a government representative.

Recall that Naftogaz could be headed by former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko. This was reported by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak, and also covered by the media.

And the Naftogaz supervisory board appointed a temporary acting head of the company in July. It became Serhiy Fedorenko. Fedorenko was appointed commercial director of the Naftogaz Group in July 2025 year.
