In the Verkhovna Rada, lawmakers gather to recognize Belarus as an occupied country

In the Verkhovna Rada, they want to recognize Belarus as an occupied country.

This is stated in a message from the press service of the Kastus Kalinouski Belarusian Regiment following a meeting with Ukrainian deputies, published on Facebook.

As stated in the post, representatives of the regiment met with the inter-fractional deputies' association " Democratic Belarus". Participating in the meeting were MPs Oleksiy Honcharenko, Vadym Halaichuk, Svitlana Fedina, Mariia Mezenzeva, Yevhen Kravchuk, Iryna Herashchenko, Mykyta Poturaev, Yehor Chernov, Oleksandr Mariykovskiy, Bohdan Yaremko and Serhiy Shvets.

"As a result of the meeting, several important decisions were made. In response to the Kalinouski regiment fighters' request, a Ukrainian parliament deputy decided to instruct the Cabinet of Ministers to amend the resolution regarding Belarusian citizens. The amendments to the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution will be put to a vote in the Verkhovna Rada. Deputies also decided to put to a vote a resolution recognizing Belarus as temporarily occupied by Russia territory," the record says.

In addition, the parties agreed that the deputies of the Rada together with representatives of the regiment "will defend the interests of the Belarusian people in European and world parliamentary institutions OSCE, PACE, NATO Parliamentary Assembly."
