In Lviv a man stabbed a recruitment center employee — the serviceman died in the ambulance

In Lviv a man fatally stabbed a 55-year-old servicemember of the Lychakiv-Zaliznychnyi District Territorial Recruitment Center and Staff during mobilization notification activities. This was reported by the head of the regional military administration, Maksym Kozytskyi, on his Telegram channel.

- In Lviv, while performing his official duties, a servicemember of the Territorial Recruitment Center and Staff was fatally wounded. Condolences to the family of the deceased. The attacker has been detained. Punishment must be inevitable!, the official wrote.

The regional police press service reported that the tragedy occurred during a check of military registration documents. According to the investigation, a 25-year-old Lviv resident attacked the servicemember of the recruitment center and inflicted a stab wound.

- A police officer who was part of the notification group, in accordance with Article 46 of the Law of Ukraine "On the National Police," used service firearms to prevent a threat to the life and health of the servicemember. The officer fired two shots in the direction of the attacker, as a result of which the attacker sustained a leg wound. The attacker was hospitalized, the agency said.

Police said that emergency medical personnel who arrived tried to resuscitate the servicemember. They were unable to save him — he died.

A forensic-operational team, patrol police, and other specialized services are working at the scene. The police are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
