In Lviv a Man Attacked a Military Serviceman from the TCC with a Knife — A Police Officer Fired Shots

At night on 21 August on Stepan Bandera Street in Lviv, a man fatally stabbed a serviceman of the Lychakiv-Zaliznychnyi District Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support (TCC and SSS) while he was performing his official duties. A police officer from the alert group used his service weapon against the attacker, and the 55-year-old serviceman, despite medics' resuscitation efforts, died in the ambulance.

The incident occurred during activities to notify the population about mobilization and to check military registration documents. This was reported by the Lviv region police. A 25-year-old resident of Lviv attacked the serviceman and inflicted a stab wound.

The police officer, who was part of the alert group, in accordance with Article 46 of the Law of Ukraine "On the National Police," used his service firearm to avert a threat to the life and health of the serviceman. The officer fired two shots in the direction of the attacker, as a result of which the attacker sustained a leg wound. The attacker was hospitalized.

An investigative-operational team from the Lviv District Police Department No. 1, patrol police, and other specialized services are working at the scene. The police are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.

The regional authorities responded

Head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration Maksym Kozytskyi reported the death of the serviceman on his Telegram channel. He expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased.

"The attacker has been detained. Punishment must be inevitable," Kozytskyi emphasized.

Conflicts around TCCs are gaining momentum

The Lviv case occurred against the background of a series of high-profile incidents involving territorial recruitment centers recorded in various regions of Ukraine. Most often clashes arise during document checks or mobilization attempts, when citizens resist or flee, and bystanders intervene in the conflict.

Investigations of such incidents are usually conducted in parallel by several bodies — the police, the prosecutor's office, and the TCCs themselves through internal inquiries, since suspicions may arise regarding both civilians and servicemen.

Earlier, Informator reported that in Lutsk 30 people were beaten, a TCC vehicle and two servicemen who pursued a man fleeing a document check were damaged. As a result of the fight, two mobilized individuals suffered bodily injuries, and the service vehicle sustained serious damage. We also wrote that in Vinnytsia region a mobilized pediatric anesthesiologist died at a training center — the 43-year-old doctor from Rivne died in hospital after falling from the fifth floor of the training center building, and the police opened a criminal case into his death.
