The reason for the turmoil around Nasirov is his conflict with Finance Minister Oleksandr Danilyuk. He wants to see his own person in this post.

Ruslan Bortnik, director of the Institute of Analysis and Policy Management, spoke about this.

"The conflict has existed for a long time. It publicly manifested in a sharp discussion around the issue of VAT lists, the tax police, changes to the tax code. Danilyuk, who formally oversees the State Fiscal Service, actually has no influence over it. Therefore he would like to see someone else in this position. The same goes for the president’s circle and, possibly, the president himself. Nasirov has held this post since 2015 years. He is an outsider to the authorities. The whole process is an attempt to seize his position. It is needed by someone from the Bankovichka (the presidential administration) or within the framework of corruption reshuffles."

The Onyshchenko case should discredit Nasirov, says an expert:

"They chose such an accusation as the Onyshchenko case. They think to discredit Nasirov. To weaken his opportunities for information protection. The announcement of suspicion in the hospital is an attempt to exert psychological pressure. It failed. Because Nasirov used the same hybrid tactic in response. The new head of the State Fiscal Service will be from Porošenko’s circle."

Nasirov will not flee Ukraine, Bortnik says:

"If Nasirov emigres from the country, Interpol will begin to pursue him. He understands this. Therefore he will stay in Ukraine. He will fight for the post. If he leaves it, interest in him will decline. He has compromising materials on the top leadership, he knows everything about financial flows. His information could become a bargaining chip."

2 in March, the head of the State Fiscal Service, Roman Nasirov, was served a suspicion. 3 in March, the Cabinet removed him from his post.

The country’s chief tax official was detained on the premises of the Feofania clinic. NABU detectives delivered him a suspicion when he was unconscious. After that, Nasirov was carried out on a stretcher to cardiac resuscitation. According to the doctor, he was diagnosed with a heart attack.
