Haber Mykola Oleksandrovych

Ornithologist, perennial presidential candidate

Graduated from the Faculty of Biology at Odessa Mechnikov University. Since 1988 — research associate at the Institute of Zoology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Specialist in ornithology. Since 1998 — chairman of the Patriotic Party of Ukraine.

Member of Verkhovna Rada (1998–2002), after which followed a continuous series of defeats: in 1999 — presidential candidate (0.12% of votes, last place); in 2002, 2006, 2012, 2014 — unsuccessful attempts to enter the Parliament. In 2014 the Central Election Commission refused to register his party’s list due to procedural violations.

Accusations of ties with Medvedchuk

In 2018, during the "Forum of Patriotic Forces" organized by him, he was pelted with eggs by representatives of nationalist organizations who accused Haber of collaborating with Viktor Medvedchuk and acting in the interests of Russia. The politician himself denied this information.
