Andriy Hordeyev is originally from a village in Kherson, a lawyer by education, whose rapid career from district deputy to governor took place exclusively within the orbit of BPP. Gandziuk Case: Father named the culprit, Lutsenko distanced himself

Public activists and Gandziuk's father publicly named Hordeyev along with Yevhen Ryshchuk and Vladyslav Manger among the likely masterminds of the attack. During the hearing of the Temporary Investigative Commission, Kateryna's father named him directly. Prosecutor General Lutsenko stated that the investigation had no evidence of Hordeyev's involvement — and the case against him did not progress. The Security Service of Ukraine confirmed searches were conducted at Hordeyev's premises along with those of Ryshchuk and Manger. However, officially he was never made a suspect.
