People's Deputy and Governor of Kherson Region from BPP
Andriy Hordeyev is originally from a village in Kherson, a lawyer by education, whose rapid career from district deputy to governor took place exclusively within the orbit of BPP. People's Deputy of the 8th convocation from BPP. From 2016 to 2019 — Head of the Kherson Regional State Administration. His wife, Marina Hordeyeva (Chernyshova), headed the BPP faction in the Kherson Regional Council — a classic family monopoly on regional power.
Gandziuk Case: Father named the culprit, Lutsenko distanced himself
The largest shadow trace of Hordeyev is the case concerning the attack on Kherson activist Kateryna Gandziuk, who was doused with acid in July 2018. Public activists and Gandziuk's father publicly named Hordeyev along with Yevhen Ryshchuk and Vladyslav Manger among the likely masterminds of the attack. During the hearing of the Temporary Investigative Commission, Kateryna's father named him directly. Prosecutor General Lutsenko stated that the investigation had no evidence of Hordeyev's involvement — and the case against him did not progress. The Security Service of Ukraine confirmed searches were conducted at Hordeyev's premises along with those of Ryshchuk and Manger. However, officially he was never made a suspect.
Toyota Land Cruiser twice cheaper than the market
In the 2018 declaration, Hordeyev indicated the purchase of a 2012 Toyota Land Cruiser 200 for 906 thousand UAH — that is, 32.5 thousand USD. The market value of such a vehicle at that time ranged from 42 to 89 thousand USD depending on condition.
