Presidential Representative in the Cabinet of Ministers (May–November 2019). Amendment to lift the ban on imports from the Russian Federation, accusations of treason, and lobbying of "green" energy

In 2021, Herus publicly justified the import of electricity from Russia and Belarus, stating that its share was "only 5%" and did not threaten energy security. Author of the legislative amendment that lifted the restrictions on electricity imports from Russia — after which a court obliged the prosecutor's office to initiate an investigation into possible treason; the case did not proceed to trial. In 2022, he voted for urban planning reform No. 5655 in the interests of developers. Simultaneously, he actively promoted "green" energy — including projects of companies linked to the orbit of deputies and ministers from Zelensky's circle. No criminal suspicions have been personally brought against him.
