Car dealer appointed by Poroshenko to lead the strategic aviation concern

Member of Parliament of the 8th convocation from the 'Petro Poroshenko Bloc' (2014–2015). In 2015, appointed president of the State Enterprise 'Antonov.' Prior to this, had no connection to the aviation sector and no relevant specialized education — spent his entire life engaged in car sales.

Mykhailo Oleksiyovych was appointed acting president of 'Antonov' after Poroshenko's personal visit to the plant. According to the dismissed director Dmytro Kiva, the domestic aviation industry suffers from two problems — incompetence of management and the outflow of highly qualified personnel.

Contract with Russia during the war and embezzlement at the enterprise

In November 2017, 'Antonov' confirmed it would perform technical condition assessment work on the An-124-100 'Ruslan' aircraft for the Russian company 'Volga-Dnepr,' which was not subject to sanctions by the NSDC.

In 2023, NABU reported suspicions regarding overpayment for legal services by 'Antonov' — the Director of Legal Affairs, in collusion with lawyers, approved payment nearly twice the contract amount, resulting in an overpayment of about 7 million UAH.
