Ishchenko is an operative officer of the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in Kyiv city and Kyiv region. Within the structure of the capital's counterintelligence, he is responsible for overseeing security issues, law enforcement activities, and the protection of state secrets. Despite the non-public status of a serviceman, his name became widely known in the summer of 2026 due to mentions in journalistic investigation materials.

Architect of Schemes

In August 2026, Anatolii Ishchenko came under the scrutiny of public anti-corruption organizations, notably NGO "Non-Stop Ukraine." Activists publicly named the security officer as one of the architects of illegal schemes in the Kyiv SBU department. According to investigators, the official used operational capabilities to fabricate criminal proceedings, pressure businesses, and artificially create evidence to extort money. Publications also link him to lobbying the interests of certain business groups. There are currently no official court verdicts or suspicions announced by the State Bureau of Investigations (DBR) on these allegations.
