Venice Commission Expert and "Servant of the People" Lawyer for "Svaty"

Candidate of Legal Sciences, lawyer and representative of Zelenskyy at the Central Election Commission during the 2019 elections. MP of the IX convocation from "Servant of the People" (No. 24 on the list). Since 2008, involved as an expert for the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe. Before joining the Parliament, worked as senior lawyer and partner at law firms, including "Katerynchuk, Moor and Partners" and Hillmont Partners. Widely known as the lawyer of the actors of the TV series "Svaty", who were placed under sanctions.

Law firm exists, but not declared

In the 2018 declaration, Kalchenko did not indicate a share in "Katerynchuk, Moor and Partners" — although YouControl registers him as a founder. Fees under civil contracts amounted to UAH 492 thousand, with an official salary of UAH 44 thousand. A 2013 Volkswagen Tiguan was declared at a value of over UAH 100 thousand — which is clearly undervalued for a vehicle of this class and year.

Marriage from age 14 and destruction of NABU

Kalchenko is one of 162 authors of the controversial draft Civil Code, which provided for lowering the marriage age to 14. He also voted for bill No. 12414 on subordination of NABU and SAP to the Prosecutor General — despite his reputation as a "legal expert".
