In 2023, Larin signed an appeal to the Venice Commission against the ban on the UOC-MP in Ukraine, demanding the recognition of this law as unconstitutional. In 2020, "Chesno" classified him within the Boyko-Lyovochkin influence group inside the OPZZh faction. On July 22, 2025, he voted for Law No. 12414, which subordinated NABU and SAP to the Prosecutor General and triggered mass protests.
