Dmytro Maltsev lives in a 250 m² house in the village of Markhalivka near Kyiv, registered under his sister Natalia. The land was purchased in April 2021, and the documents confirming the readiness of the property for use appeared just four days after the official notice of commencement of work in September 2022 (although satellite images show the house was ready as early as spring 2022). Experts call this speed a "world record." Also, according to an investigation by hromadske, the judge’s 79-year-old mother, Lidiya Maltseva, allegedly obtained Russian citizenship in 2023. Dmytro Maltsev stated that his parents lived in Donetsk, his father passed away, and his mother relocated to the territory controlled by Ukraine. He said the information about his mother's Russian passport was news to him and suggested that the document could have appeared as a result of forced passportization during the occupation.
