CEO of 1+1 media
CEO of Ukraine's largest media and an associate of Kolomoisky
Yaroslav Valeriyovych Pakholchuk has been leading Igor Kolomoisky's television empire (1+1, 2+2, TET, UNIAN) since December 2019. He joined the group in 2010 from Ernst & Young and advanced from CFO to the top executive. Publicly, he calls Kolomoisky a "brilliant person."
And now "this is my private business"
At the end of October 2023, when suspicions and arrests around Kolomoisky intensified, the oligarch "transferred corporate rights" of 1+1 media to the management headed by Pakholchuk. At the same time, Pakholchuk and his partner Svitlana Mishchenko registered duplicate channels under the group’s brands (VIZN, UNIAN 2) and own the operator Viasat and Kyivstar TV.
The media lawyer openly states that these legal entities are a "reinsurance in case of nationalization" meant to show that Kolomoisky has nothing to do with it. So, the CEO manages someone else’s holding while simultaneously owning private channels under the same brands. Conflict of interest? No, just "different businesses."
