Maidan Sotnyk whose speech toppled Yanukovych — and the Parliament's most scandalous “fist”

Euromaidan activist (born 1987, Lviv region), whose ultimatum from the stage on February 21, 2014, is considered pivotal for Yanukovych’s flight. Company commander of the volunteer battalion “Dnipro-1”, wounded near Ilovaisk, was held captive in Russia. People's Deputy of the VIII convocation (majoritarian district No. 122, 56.6%), non-affiliated, member of the anti-corruption committee. Since 2022 — serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Fighting instead of lawmaking

Remembered in Parliament for violent incidents: kicked the SBU General Pisnyi during a committee meeting, hit two policemen in the Mariupol Court of Appeal; in 2018 refused to surrender his weapon at the Parliament entrance and started a fight — Groysman called to strip him of immunity. Was involved in the “Bubenchyk case” concerning the shootings of Berkut officers; was reluctant to give testimony in the Maidan case. Russia opened a criminal case against him and declared him internationally wanted.

Empty declaration and a car without property

Declared a complete absence of property, yet changed several vehicles and lived in central Kyiv (explained as rent paid by state compensation). In 2019 the Central Election Commission denied him registration for elections; courts upheld the refusal.
