Maidan Sotnyk and 'Aidar' member, whom the battalion commander called a deserter, and colleagues caught button-pressing

A military man by calling (born 1981, Kozova urban-type settlement in Ternopil region), graduate of the National Academy of Internal Affairs. Sotnyk of the 18th Hundred of the Maidan Self-Defense; after the war began in Donbas — deputy commander of the 'Aidar' battalion (call sign "Strela"), commanded an assault reconnaissance group. Member of Parliament of the VIII convocation (2014–2019) from the People’s Front (No. 55), member of the law enforcement committee, chairman of the subcommittee on criminal legislation. Resides in Lviv region (Chervonohrad).

"Deserter"?

In December 2014, the 'Aidar' battalion commander and MP Serhiy Melnychuk publicly stated that a deserter had entered the Parliament, naming Solyar. The accusation remained at the statement level (Melnychuk himself is a controversial figure); there was no proof or verdict.

On 11.12.2014, Solyar pressed the card for colleague Deiedey during voting — a documented episode of button-pressing. Declarations are modest: income of approximately 320–420 thousand UAH, no cash assets, two land plots, several vehicles.
