People's Deputy of Arseniy Yatsenyuk's "People's Front" — concealed 4.7 billion in debts in the declaration
Denys Dzenzersky is a businessman from Dnipro and a People's Deputy of the VII and VIII convocations from Arseniy Yatsenyuk's "People's Front," whose declaration became one of the most scandalous examples of hiding financial obligations in Ukrainian parliamentary practice. He entered the Rada at #24 on the "People’s Front" list. In parliament, he held the position of Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Financial Policy and Banking Activity — which, considering the scale of his personal financial problems, is particularly indicative.
4.7 billion in debts and $210 million in court decisions
At the beginning of 2019, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) submitted a proposal to Prosecutor General Lutsenko regarding Dzenzersky, who did not disclose financial obligations exceeding 4 billion UAH in his declaration. Lutsenko did not submit the proposal to the Rada. Following an investigation, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) established that the deputy has debts to banks amounting to $210 million. Dzenzersky did not report his financial obligations the following year either.
35 million UAH gift without proof of legality
In his 2015 declaration, Dzenzersky indicated a monetary gift of 35 million UAH but failed to prove the legality of its receipt. The SAP closed the criminal proceedings against Dzenzersky — however, the capital's appellate court found that this decision was premature and resumed the proceedings. In 2016, Dzenzersky married his faction colleague Tetiana Donets — together they promised the National Guard armored trucks funded from their own resources. Indicatively, a person with $210 million in bank debts publicly financed the army.
