Trukhanov Hennadiy Leonidovych

Former member of the Party of Regions and 11-year mayor of Odesa, stripped of citizenship due to a Russian passport

Politician (born 1965, Odesa), graduate of the Odesa Higher Artillery Command School. Member of the Odesa City Council (2005, 2006 — "Lytvyn Bloc", 2010 — Party of Regions, faction leader), People’s Deputy of Ukraine of the VII convocation from the Party of Regions (district No. 136). On 16.01.2014, voted for the "dictatorship laws"; in 2013 signed an appeal to the Polish Sejm requesting recognition of the Volhynia tragedy as genocide. Mayor of Odesa (2014–2025), founder of the "Trust the Deeds" party. His circle is offshore: mentioned in the Panama Papers; his "road worker" Shumacher is linked to the structures of Russian oligarch Zhukov.

The “Krayany” case and declarations

Suspected under Part 5, Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: the city council purchased the “Krayany” factory building for UAH 185 million from a structure that bought it at auction for UAH 11.5 million. Acquitted (2019), verdict annulled (2021), case under review by the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC); bail set at UAH 30.9 million and electronic bracelet imposed. In 2020, HACC closed the case on false declarations amounting to UAH 33 million and 18 million.

Russian passport and flood

On 14.10.2025, Zelensky revoked his citizenship — the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) presented a Russian passport; Trukhanov denies this and is litigating. On 29.10.2025, he and eight officials were suspected of official negligence: during the flood on September 30, nine residents of Odesa died. Up to 8 years; bail set at UAH 42 million, and from January 2026 — personal guarantee.
