Renowned Ukrainian dermatologist, endocrinologist, and founder of the prestigious international aesthetic medicine network TRYFONOVA MD

Maria Tryfonova is known not only in Ukraine but also in the Baltic countries. She began her career in Cherkasy, later graduating from the O. Bohomolets National Medical University and completing an internship at the famous Swiss clinic La Prairie. Tryfonova gained star status serving top models, bloggers, and politicians, as well as acting as an ambassador for well-known global cosmetic brands. Besides her medical business, she has long been mentioned in the media as the common-law wife (partner) of the scandalous former Deputy Head of the State Customs Service of Ukraine Ruslan Cherkaskyi, with whom she jointly owned part of the clinic's assets.

“Biopatid” — Profiting from the health of Ukrainians

In September 2026, Maria Tryfonova became the central figure in a large-scale international criminal scandal related to the falsification of the popular weight loss drug “Biopatid.” The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), Office of the Prosecutor General, and Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor's Office conducted over 250 large-scale searches across 13 regions of Ukraine, shutting down an underground laboratory where Chinese raw material (tirzepatide) was artisanal packed under the guise of Brazilian medicine. According to the investigation, the cost of a vial was $17, while it was sold to clients for up to $1,200 through the TRYFONOVA MD network and the distributor Biopell Medical, generating over 5 million dollars in profit. The State Medicines Service banned the drug as illegal and life-threatening. Currently, Tryfonova and 26 other participants in the scheme have been charged under Part 3, Article 28 and Part 2, Article 321-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine; the doctor herself has been detained and is held in custody at the Dnipropetrovsk pre-trial detention center.
