He has dedicated his professional career entirely to the investigative units of the National Police of Ukraine, where he has long served as the first deputy chief of the department — head of the investigative division of the Sviatoshyn Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kyiv. Besides his practical work, Zamula holds an academic degree — in 2021, he successfully defended his Doctor of Philosophy dissertation in the field of criminal law and criminology with a specialty in "Law" at the National Academy of Internal Affairs.

In the media space, the official has become the subject of several high-profile journalistic investigations and scandals. Analysis of his official declarations recorded the acquisition of a large amount of expensive real estate (several apartments and non-residential premises), with particular attention drawn to an apartment valued at a symbolic 15 hryvnias. Moreover, media reports have included accusations and complaints about the actions of the investigative department he leads, where investigative journalists have alleged possible abuses of official position, pressure on businesses, as well as dubious schemes involving the seizure and return of physical evidence — cars and seized funds. To date, there are no official court verdicts regarding these allegations.
