About Fire Point

Drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Sanctioned Mindich

Fire Point is a Ukrainian defense company that produces FP-1 drones and FP-5 and FP-7 rockets. It is a key supplier to the Defense Forces, primarily funded by Western partners, including Denmark. The official revenue for 2025 is 29.3 billion UAH. The company became the center of the loudest defense scandal following the release of the "Mindich tapes." In intercepted recordings by NABU, Timur Mindich, a figure in the "Midas" case, in a conversation with then-Minister of Defense Umerov uses the words "we" and "our" regarding Fire Point and discusses selling 33% of the company to investors from the UAE for 600 million dollars.

NABU, False Data About Owners, and Threat of Losing Contracts

The Public Anti-Corruption Council under the Ministry of Defense declared that Fire Point provided deliberately false information about its owners and called for it to be classified as a high-risk entity. Confirmation of Mindich's rights as a beneficiary would result in the company losing the ability to supply products to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, since he is on the sanctions lists. Half a year after the first publication of the tapes in the "Midas" case, no defense-related suspicions have been announced against anyone. According to some sources, NABU was asked by Western partners not to do so, as it is difficult for taxpayers in those countries to understand why they are funding weapons for a company involved in a scandal.
