About UDAR (UKRAINIAN DEMOCRATIC ALLIANCE FOR REFORMS) OF VITALIY KLITSCHKO

The UDAR political party was founded in 2010 based on the "New Country" party and from the very beginning positioned itself as a reformist force led by Vitaliy Klitschko. Later, it was able to form a wide network of branches throughout Ukraine, including all regions, as well as Kyiv, Sevastopol, and Crimea.

In its program, the party emphasizes the development of a social market economy, support for small and medium-sized businesses, and reducing the role of state intervention in citizens' lives. Another important direction is the expansion of local self-government powers and strengthening the role of communities.

The party actively participated in elections at various levels. UDAR achieved its most significant result in the 2012 parliamentary elections, receiving about 14% of the votes and forming a faction in the Verkhovna Rada. After the Euromaidan events, the political force united with other parties, including the Petro Poroshenko Bloc (BPP), which allowed it to strengthen its positions at the local level.

In 2014, Vitaliy Klitschko was elected mayor of Kyiv, and the party obtained significant representation in the Kyiv City Council. Subsequently, UDAR maintained its influence in the capital and continued political activity as a separate force. In 2020, Klitschko again headed the party, confirming the intention to participate in elections independently.

The party also sought to form political alliances with other forces, although not all negotiations were successful. At the same time, UDAR continues to participate in the country's political life by nominating candidates in elections and supporting certain state initiatives.
