Since our channel began operating, we have pointed out dozens of times the brutal delay in the President signing decrees on the appointment of judges.

In other words, we publicly drew the attention of those personally responsible for this situation.

In addition to the usual political statements, the HCMC can take one more simple step to encourage the staff of the Office of the President to review the HCMC’s personnel submissions more quickly.

In our view, a sufficiently simple solution would be to introduce a public table that would display the following information:

1) date materials regarding the candidate/judge were received from the NJAC;

2) date the recommendation regarding the candidate/judge was considered by the HCMC;

3) date the HCMC’s submission was sent to the President;

4) date the appointment decree was issued;

5) date the judge took the Oath.

Updates to such a table could be made weekly, following the example of the judge position accounting table maintained by the NJAC.

By the way, a public table accounting for judge positions did not always exist either.

At the time Zhernakov participated in the selection procedure, the list of vacancies was classified.

And it could only be reviewed by the method known at that time.

Now it is time to make public the information on judicial appointments broken down by specific dates and names.

And if, again, any of the candidates/judges ends up in the wrong “bucket,” the whole country and our international partners will see it.
