The enemy struck Odesa with ballistic missiles; drones attack Kharkiv high-rises: many injured (photos, video)

On the night of 09 August, the Russians attacked Ukraine with ballistic, anti-ship, and anti-radar missiles: Iskander-M/S-400, Oniks, Kh-31P; in addition, they launched 202 strike UAVs of the Shahed type (including jet-powered), Gerbera, and decoy drones of the “Parodiya” type, as well as loitering munitions “Banderol.” The main direction of the strike was the Odesa region. Air defenses shot down/suppressed 174 enemy Shahed UAVs, Gerbera, drones of other types, and 5 loitering munitions “Banderol.” Hits by missiles and strike UAVs were recorded at 22 locations, and pieces of downed craft fell at 6 locations. As a result of the interceptions, several enemy missiles did not reach their targets; information about impact sites is being clarified, the Ukrainian Air Force reported. There are destroyed residential buildings in several districts of Odesa. Vehicles also burned. Currently 6 injured are known, reported head of the MVA Serhii Lysak. The head of the Odesa OVA, Oleh Kiper, clarified that in total 8 people were injured in the Odesa region. A fire broke out in a four-story residential building in central Odesa, and nearby vehicles were burning. Firefighters extinguished the blaze over an area of 1000 sq. m. At another address 2 private residences were burning, the State Emergency Service reported. Russia launched about 17 missiles and 90 UAVs at Odesa and its agglomeration during the night: monitors publish the approximate target routes. Ports, energy, and civilian facilities were under attack. The Russians also struck Kharkiv — they hit an apartment building; as a result of the attack 7–10 floors were destroyed. There is information about injured people. Two people were killed, and another 13 were injured. The enemy also hit a neighboring office building and one of the parks, Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported. The Russians also attacked Zhytomyr region. Hits and damage to civilian infrastructure facilities were recorded, as well as to a private enterprise with German investment. A hit on a private residential house and falling debris on residential and outbuildings were also recorded. 3 people were injured, the Zhytomyr OVA reported. The enemy attacked three districts of Dnipropetrovsk region almost 10 times with drones, artillery, and an aerial bomb. 11 people were wounded. Among them were four children. Infrastructure, a shopping center, vehicles, outbuildings, a lyceum, and a private house were devastated, reported OVA head Oleksandr Hanzha. Recall that as a result of another Russian Federation attack on Kyiv and Kyiv region on the night of 8 August, three people were killed, including a child born in 2022. At least three more people were injured. Fires and destruction were recorded in the capital and the region.
