Members of the “Servant of the People” hold cash totaling 1 billion hryvnias – Ukrainian Citizens’ Committee for Free Elections

Members of the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People faction declared 1 billion 103 million UAH in cash. Information is in accordance with politicians’ declarations.

Thus, the amount of cash ten times exceeds the sums of funds that deputies have in bank accounts. In total, Servant of the People deputies hold only 128 million UAH in banking institutions.

Among the top 10 Servant of the People deputies who declared the largest cash holdings:

1. Oleg Voronko – 129 million UAH.

2. Oleksandr Sova – 83 million.

3. David Arakhamia – 33 million.

4. Roman Mulyk – 24 million.

5. Ruslan Gorbenko – 22 million.

6. Ostap Shypailo – 21 million.

7. Anatoliy Hunko – 20 million.

8. Oleksandr Trukhin – 20 million.

9. Artyom Kultenko – 19 million.

10. Mykola Solskyi – 16 million.

Also declared significant cash sums by Ihor Marchuk (15 million), Oleksandr Skichko (14 million), Serhiy Ionushas (14 million), Oleksandr Bakumov (14 million), Olha Savchenko (12 million), Artyom Nahaiovsky (12 million), Ivan Yunanov (12 million), Olena Shulyak (12 million), Stepan Chernyavskyi (11 million).

In contrast, 23 Servant of the People MPs did not declare cash funds.

“Over the year, pro-government deputies increased the amount of cash by 59 million UAH. Thus, according to declarations for the 2019 year, Servant of the People deputies reported 1 billion 44 million in cash. Whereas in the 2020 year – 1 billion 103 million. That is, one can speak of quite a substantial enrichment of faction members. It is also surprising how much more cash the deputies of the pro-government party hold than funds in bank accounts. Among other things, this may indicate a lack of trust in Ukraine’s banking system,” noted Oleksiy Koshel, head of the Ukrainian Civic Council.

Data do not include financial assets owned by deputies' family members, nor include borrowed funds. Cash on hand has been converted to hryvnia equivalents for calculations.
