Najem accuses Poroshenko's people of stalking him

A member of Parliament from the Batkivshchyna faction, Mustafa Nayyem, says that, like his party colleague Serhiy Leshchenko, he is also being surveilled and has compromising material gathered against him.

He told journalists on Tuesday in the parliament’s corridor, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

"Indeed, you can go online and see that there are supposedly bloggers or Facebook users who are now posting photos of my family, claiming, for example, that my mother, who died when I was three, is actually alive, they found her somewhere," Nayyem said.

He stated that he was shown photographs of surveillance on him over the past three months.

The MP also expressed the conviction that the entire campaign mounted against him has its roots in the office of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.

"His (President Poroshenko’s) people, specifically Mr. Hranovskyi (a Batkivshchyna MP, Oleksandr Hranovskyi - ed.) and Mr. Kononenko (a Batkivshchyna MP, Ihor Kononenko - ed.), hire lawyers, people who are developing a strategy to destroy any anti-corruption actions."

"To them joined Mr. Martynenko (former MP from the faction 'Narodnyi Front' Mykola Martynenko) and Mr. Pashynskyi (MP from the Narodnyi Front faction Serhiy Pashynskyi)," the deputy claims.

He believes that in 'Batkivshchyna' and in the 'Narodnyi Front' they should realize what such a situation could lead to, because, according to him, these actions are essentially a repetition of what they did in their time during Viktor Yanukovych's presidency, when ex-First Vice Premier Serhiy Arbuzov, with the help of the project 'Ukrainian Grievance', and former First Deputy Prosecutor General Renat Kuzymin organized surveillance of MPs.

Nayyem emphasized that he has nothing to hide, he is completely open, and will continue to do what he believes is right, "and time will put everything in its place."

As reported, 9 in September, parliament member from the Batkivshchyna faction Leshchenko said that there is illegal surveillance, collection of confidential data, and eavesdropping against anti-corruption fighters in Ukraine.
