Restaurateur on the property commission: land, mutual responsibility, and "Samopomich"

Serhii Husovskyi is the grandson of the director of the "Arsenal" factory. He graduated from an aviation engineering college and studied at Moscow State University. Since 1995, he has been a restaurateur, founder of "Pantagruel" and a restaurant chain. He was a deputy of the Kyiv City Council of the VII and VIII convocations from "Samopomich," head of the faction, and twice ran for mayor of Kyiv. He is a supporter of the notorious sect of the "apostle" Muntyan, who served a sentence for theft and fraud before founding the church.

Expulsion for "mutual responsibility" and materials sent to NABU

On September 6, 2018, Husovskyi was expelled from "Samopomich" due to covering for fellow party deputy Roman Marchenko, whose family was allocated 1.4 hectares of land by the Kyiv City Council over two years. The party's executive committee forwarded the collected materials to NABU and the NACP. Husovskyi called it an "attempt to suppress an inconvenient Kyiv team" and initiated the self-dissolution of the faction instead of condemning his colleague's scheme. There are no direct criminal proceedings recorded against Husovskyi, however, membership in the property commission while actively running a restaurant business dependent on Kyiv communal real estate and permitting procedures constitutes a classic undeclared conflict of interest.
