Ukrainian Prosecutor and Law Enforcement Officer
Indychenko holds the position of Head of the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor's Office at the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine. He obtained a higher legal education and began his career in the prosecutorial bodies of Odesa Oblast, where, in particular, he headed Odesa Local Prosecutor's Office No. 2 (Malynovskyi District). The official is a representative of a notable law enforcement dynasty: his father, Borys Vitaliyovych Indychenko, worked for a long time in the Department for Combating Organized Crime and Corruption (UBOP), and later became the head of the detectives’ division of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU).
Family and Shadow Schemes
The official’s professional activities have been repeatedly accompanied by media scandals and accusations of abusing family connections to maintain influence within the system. Investigative journalists and public organizations accused Indychenko Jr. of involvement in shadow schemes for enrichment from natural resources and covering illegal activities under the guise of environmental oversight. Additionally, the media highlighted conflicts between various law enforcement agencies (notably the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and NABU), in the context of which family ties of Borys Indychenko featured, and his rapid career advancement was exclusively linked to lobbying interests on the part of his high-ranking father at the anti-corruption bureau.
