In Zhytomyr region, over 23 thousand hectares of unauthorized afforested land plots have been identified, and in Rivne region — potentially about 63 thousand hectares. Medvedovskyi systematically applies an unconventional practice: if local self-government bodies ignore illegal logging on communal lands and do not report violations, the Environmental Inspectorate initiates lawsuits directly against local self-government bodies, creating judicial precedents of financial liability for communities. He also leads efforts to collect digital evidence of wartime ecocide in Polissya for future international courts and reparations.
