Ivchenko focused his activities for a long time on agricultural policy, holding the position of Deputy Chair of the relevant committee, but later joined the strategically important Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense, and Intelligence. Additionally, in 2026, the deputy caused a wave of public outrage with his public statements: first, he proposed blocking draft dodgers' access to higher education, and later accused the defense ministry of misusing the budget, claiming that funds for soldiers' salaries would last only until the end of August.
