Son of a deputy from the Party of Regions — controlled sanatoriums with thugs
The son of MP Vasyl Kalinchuk and a representative of the Odesa regional elite, whose career was built solely on his father's connections. In 2012 — involved in a corruption scandal concerning the equipment of the "Odrex" clinic: after a conflict with one of the founders of the Center, he ceased his entrepreneurial activity. In December 2013 — appointed Deputy Head of the Odesa Regional State Administration for humanitarian affairs under head Mykola Skoryk (Party of Regions). Gained the trust of the new leader through false accusations against previous management.
Thugs, beating of journalists, and a witness who fled
As deputy governor, Kalinchuk controlled sanatoriums where, before the events of May 2, 2014, thugs and supporters of the "Russian world" lived. Additionally, he was the main eyewitness of the beating of protesters and journalists in Odesa on February 19, 2014.
