A lawyer from Chernihiv region (born 1986, Sribne settlement), graduate of the Yaroslav Mudryi National Law Academy. Investigator at the Ministry of Internal Affairs / police (2010–2016; investigated embezzlement at Ukrzaliznytsia), since 2016 — detective, later head of a department at NABU; handled high-profile cases of Onyshchenko, Nasirov, Tatarov, Hladkovskyi. Winning a prolonged competition, since July 28, 2022, he has headed the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) — his appointment was one of the conditions for EU accession. He leads the investigation of "Midas" / "Mindichgate" regarding corruption at Energoatom.
Leads the "Midas" case, uses others' apartments and cars
In autumn 2025, amid the Mindich case, media wrote about possible attempts by authorities to remove Klymenko and "bury" the case; the Security Service of Ukraine denied preparing charges against him and Arakhamia. Heads of SAP and NABU publicly warned about attacks on the anti-corruption system.
Former prosecutor colleague Bronevitsky accused Klymenko of allegedly unlawfully obtaining lawyer status. Declaration-2025 — mostly salary (5+ million UAH, the same amount in accounts), use of others' apartments and cars.
