Kononenko Albert Vasilyovych

Albert Vasylovych Kononenko — deputy of the Kharkiv Regional Council, first deputy chairman of the regional council. Born in Russia, he received his education in Kharkiv — at the Economics Faculty of Karazin University and at the Yaroslav Mudryi Law Academy.

In the 6th convocation of the Verkhovna Rada, he served as an assistant to the MP from the "Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc," Pavlo Kostenko, and in 2012–2014, as an assistant to Andriy Pinchuk from the Party of Regions. A typical example of a "non-partisan" aide who feels comfortable on both sides of the barricade.

"Vidrodzhennia," land, and three criminal proceedings

In 2015, he became a deputy of the Kharkiv Regional Council from "Vidrodzhennia," joining the commission on agrarian policy and land relations. In 2018, the prosecutor's office notified him of suspicion in land dealings worth 400 million UAH — the so-called "corporate scheme": a cooperative received land for free to provide housing to its own members, and Kononenko was one of its creators. Overall, three criminal proceedings have been opened against him, which, according to him, have been closed "due to lack of corpus delicti." Former regional council colleague Dmytro Bulakh confirmed giving testimony about the "corporate scheme."

Cash over 5 million and a fleet of vehicles

The declaration records cash exceeding 5 million UAH and vehicles: Land Rover Range Rover, Mercedes-Benz CL 63 AMG, Mercedes-Benz ML 350 CDI, Lexus LX 470, Toyota Camry. The NACP system records: the amount of financial assets exceeds declared income by more than 10 times. In 2017, unknown persons poured acid on the deputy's car.
