Person information

Former head of the police "economic protection" unit, who built a $6 million empire after dismissal — and housed figures involved in cases he once led in his business center

Police General of the 3rd rank from Stryi (born 1977), Candidate of Legal Sciences, graduate of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Career — from investigator to Deputy Head of the National Police; founder and head of the Department of Economic Protection of the National Police of Ukraine (liquidated in 2019). After dismissal in 2019, he joined the family business of his father Mykhailo: since February 2021, he has headed the family investment fund "Markus Max."

Empire and "Elite Office" after service

According to an investigation by Bihus.Info (June 2025), the Kupranets family owns real estate worth at least $6 million: the Iceberg business center in Kyiv, hotels in Truskavets and Bukovel, agricultural enterprises in Europe, gas extraction companies. A key question raised by journalists: the family's business assets overlap with criminal cases that were once led under his supervision.

According to materials from "Anticoru"/Bastion, he "registered" former law enforcement officers (Hluhenkyi, Marchuk), energy magnates, and former high-ranking officials in his Iceberg business center; the building itself, according to their data, was constructed with violations, but the Kyiv City Council approved the sale of the land beneath it.
