Twice elected mayor of Kremenchuk from the "For the Future" party, spent 9.5 million UAH of budget funds on his own election campaigning and fled from investigation

Born in the village of Chervona Znamyanka, Kremenchuk district, Poltava region. Deputy of the Avtozavodskyi District Council of Kremenchuk, five years — head of the permanent deputy commission. Since 2010 — vice mayor for humanitarian issues in Oleg Babaiev's team. In November 2015, elected for the first time as mayor of Kremenchuk. Re-elected in 2020 from the "For the Future" party.

Criminal proceedings, budget campaigning and fleeing investigation

In 2017, Maletskyi provided false information to law enforcement — a criminal case was opened against him. In 2020, he became involved in a scandal related to the election campaign: he distributed a campaign newspaper among Kremenchuk residents, printed with budget funds amounting to almost 9.5 million UAH — during the nationwide COVID-19 quarantine. According to media reports, in 2018 he fled from the investigation.
