"Matros": boxing, parliamentary cover, and $15,000 for escape
Oleksandr Matrosov is the head of the Luhansk Boxing Federation and an assistant-consultant to MP Oleksandr Sukhov from the "Dovira" group. On April 7, 2026, he was detained as the organizer of a mobilization evasion scheme. The scheme covered Odesa, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, and Ternopil. On April 4, Matrosov's name was officially listed in the Verkhovna Rada registers. After detention — it disappeared.
Betrayer's price list: $8,000–15,000 per ticket
Clients were fictitiously employed at a controlled company with booking — $8,000. Forged documents about business trips abroad — $10,000. Smuggling to Moldova bypassing checkpoints — $15,000. At least 40 people used the services. During searches, over 5 million hryvnias in cash were seized.
MP Sukhov — and convenient ignorance
Matrosov was a trusted person and assistant to MP Sukhov. Searches were conducted not only at the offices of the scheme but also at people close to the deputy. The question "could the MP not have known" is rhetorical. The "Dovira" parliamentary group is associated with agro-oligarch Andriy Verevskyi. The shadow of the case falls on the entire structure.
Criminal background and sports legend
In business circles, Matrosov is known by the nickname "Matros" — with a criminal past. Public legitimacy was given by the position in the sports federation and a deputy "umbrella." While the Armed Forces fighters are dying in Donetsk region — the "sports official" traded deferrals from the front for cash.
