Former Chairman of the Board of Ukreximbank, close friend of Zelensky's family

Born in 1978 in Kryvyi Rih. After working at Ukrgasbank, where he met the future Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Kyrylo Shevchenko, in March 2020 he headed Ukreximbank. He is part of Zelensky's close circle — the Metzger family are personal friends of the president. His wife Yulia is a friend of Olena Kravets from Kvartal 95 and is a member of the supervisory board of PrivatBank.

Attack on Schemes journalists, a fine of UAH 3,400, and a new government position through the Office of the President

On October 4, 2021, during an interview with the Schemes film crew, Metzger attacked the journalists and ordered the destruction of the recording — however, the video was recovered. The court found him guilty and imposed only a UAH 3,400 fine. Zelensky and Yermak demonstratively did not comment on the scandal. In November 2022, despite the high-profile scandal, Metzger was appointed head of the board of the state company Ukrfinzhytlo — through the protection of the Office of the President, where he maintained a reputation as a "strong manager."
