Sazhko Serhii Mykolaiovych
People's Deputy of Ukraine of the 8th Convocation
Person information
Former Mayor of Kurakhove, "Akhtemov-affiliated" ex-MP from Donetsk region, currently head of a village military administration
Afghan war veteran, head of the Kurakhove City Council (2010–2014). Member of Parliament of the 8th convocation (2014, independent candidate from constituency No. 59, Donetsk region), member of the "Opposition Bloc" faction (pro-Akhtemov wing). The 2014 elections in his constituency were accompanied by accusations of fraud: two days before the vote, the geolocation of the district was moved, the commission worked under armed guard, there were bomb threats, and the Donetsk prosecutor's office announced candidate Sazhko wanted for three weeks. After 2022 — head of the Shakhivka village military administration of Pokrovsk district.
Pro-Russian episodes of 2014–2018
In autumn 2014, he was recorded at a rally supporting the pseudo-referendum of the "DPR" alongside pro-Russian agitators — on this basis some sources (including Wikipedia) label him a "collaborator." In January 2018, he was among 36 MPs who voted against the law recognizing Ukraine's sovereignty over the occupied Donbas. He signed and submitted a petition to the Constitutional Court of Ukraine that annulled the article on illegal enrichment.
Despite the "collaborator" label, since 2022 he holds a Ukrainian state position in a frontline community, and earlier was deputy chairman of the Pokrovsk district council.
