At the center of a high-profile anti-corruption scandal due to accusations of systemic bribery.

In early October 2026, anti-corruption media (including the publication "Antikor") published articles accusing Oleksandr Sych of receiving $260,000 in bribes for the illegal issuance of "paid" permits to affiliated developers through joint commercial interests with the head of "Aksioma Group," Vyacheslav Tomachynskyi. Meanwhile, in September 2026, Sych publicly complained that representatives of certain veteran communities of Prykarpattia were deliberately "incited" against the regional council and himself by external political opponents aiming to destabilize the situation in the region. Additional media resonance arose due to the official’s regular declarations of significant property and financial changes in the NAPC registers throughout 2026, as well as his sharp public statements criticizing international peace initiatives.
