Pediatrician from private clinics — acting head of the NHSU, who resigned after a scandal involving "external influences"

A pediatrician who worked for a long time in children's polyclinics in Kyiv — as head and chief doctor. Later — chief doctor of the Dobrobut network, then director of the ISIDA clinic. Together with the founder of the NHSU Oleg Petrenko, he moved to the public sector.

At the NHSU, he initially dealt with contracts with pharmacies. In 2020, he won the competition for the position of head of the NHSU — after Minister Stepanov, under pressure from the public and politicians, decided to hold a "fair selection." The NHSU manages a budget of almost UAH 80 billion.

Resignation and "external influences"

In July 2021, Vilenskyi resigned, stating that "for the last one and a half years the NHSU has suffered from external influences." He noted a tense situation due to the need to rapidly renew contracts with hospitals — and hospitals did not receive money, doctors — salaries, patients suffered.

Declared a share of an apartment of 106 sq. m in Kyiv and a land plot of 1500 sq. m in the Boryspil district. Also registered copyrights on several medical textbooks on pediatrics.
