Heorhiy Zubko is a representative of the new generation of the "family" Kyiv elite, whose career start is directly linked to parental connections. His father, Yuriy Hryhorovych Zubko, is a deputy of the VIII convocation of the Kyiv City Council, an Afghanistan war veteran, and a member of the permanent commission on urban planning, architecture, and land use. From 2012 to 2015, Heorhiy worked as the Deputy Director of the Procurement Department at PJSC "Kyivmiskbud" — at the same time when another department of "Kyivmiskbud" was headed by his father.

From "Kasta" to the Patrol Police

Heorhiy Zubko participated in the television reality show "Kasta" — a project about the children and grandchildren of well-known politicians and businessmen. Since 2012, he has been an Associate Professor at the Administrative Law Department of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. Since June 2015, he has been the Head of the Patrol Police Department of Ukraine. Leading a key department of the reformed police is a serious position for a young lawyer whose most significant experience at that time was procurement at "Kyivmiskbud" and a television reality show.

"Boryspil" and the declaration with a million in the bank

He later became the Deputy General Director for Commercial Activities and Strategic Development of Boryspil International Airport. In his declaration, he reported two apartments (74 and 98 sq. m), a 2010 Volkswagen Transporter, a 2007 Mazda 3, a Moto Guzzi V7 Racer motorcycle, as well as 1,462,000 UAH in bank accounts. He also heads the charitable organization "Circle of Care" and runs a blog on "Ukrainska Pravda."
