About Constitutional Court

The Constitutional Court of Ukraine is the sole body of constitutional jurisdiction in the state, which ensures the supremacy of the Constitution of Ukraine and exercises control over the compliance of laws and normative legal acts with the Basic Law of the state. The Court plays an important role in maintaining the stability of the constitutional order, protecting citizens' rights, and ensuring a balance of power among the branches of government. The activities of the Constitutional Court are based on the principles of independence, legality, collegiality, and the rule of law.

The main powers of the Constitutional Court are the official interpretation of the Constitution of Ukraine, verification of the constitutionality of laws, decrees, international treaties, and other legal acts. The Court also considers constitutional complaints from citizens regarding violations of their rights due to the application of laws that contradict the Constitution of Ukraine. Decisions of the Constitutional Court are mandatory for implementation throughout the territory of the state and have significant importance for the development of the country's legal system.

In modern conditions, the Constitutional Court of Ukraine contributes to strengthening democratic institutions, protecting constitutional human rights and freedoms, as well as ensuring the stability of state governance and adherence to the principles of the rule of law.
